Cedar Creek Hall Open Day Fair
Apr 24, 2021, 9:30 AM – 2:30 PM
When you visit us on the 24th April, you will be welcomed into the grounds of the Hall, and as you enter you will find a programme of events, including times of the guided historical rail walk. Stalls and attractions will entertain the whole family.
The local Fire Brigade will offer sausage sizzle, so lunch and refreshments are available. In the ground level of the Hall, the local community library is holding a book sale – gems to found. In the main Hall upstairs, the local museum will provide an insight to the history of the surrounding together and a display of railway artifacts found via metal detector as well as few other stalls and flyers of local attractions.
Raffle tickets will be sold to support the upkeep of the Hall and drawn at the end of the day. By visiting, you will have learned more about the community surrounding the Hall both from the past and in the present.
Cedar Creek Hall, Closeburn is in a rural setting near Samford Village. The Fair is held in tandem with the Community Library Samford book sale and marks a new era for the Hall reaching out to the community. To help put the Hall into the limelight, our local museum – Samford Museum – is leading a walk back through history, along a short stretch of rail track close to the Hall, supported by insights of the construction and impact of the track in times past with displays of maps, photos and articles of the history of the Hall, which was built about 1925. Behind the Hall is the Closeburn Fire Brigade, and they will feature one of their engines supported by ‘fire’ information to help the community stay protected.
To help complete the festive atmosphere, there will be stall holders ranging from enthusiastic hobbyists and professionals sharing their passions, to organisations with local information. This will be backed by entertainers for everyone’s enjoyment. There will be attractions for all ages: games for kids, art and craft stalls, as well as local produce.
A simple country fair to welcome all.
Parking is available outside the Hall’s forecourt. Please respect neighbours' gate way when parking.
